True Recovery

What does it look like to truly be recovered from drug addiction or alcoholism? A person who is fully recovered from their addiction doesn’t need to take medication, doesn’t need to attend meetings and doesn’t refer to themselves as an addict any longer. They have conquered their physical addiction problem in addition to addressing the underlying issues that drove them to use in the first place. A person who is fully recovered from their substance dependence is able to stand on their own two feet and face life’s challenges, life’s ups and downs and tests to their sobriety without faltering.

Narconon Fresh Start is a drug rehab program unlike other traditional rehabs. Graduates of their drug rehab centers do not go to meetings for the rest of their life, they do not take any drug replacement therapy and they do not think of themselves as addicts any longer. With an extremely high success rate for lasting sobriety their treatment programs are leaders in the field of helping addicted individuals put their substance use behind them and set out to create the drug-free life for themselves they have always envisioned.

Teaching Clients How to Truly Live a Happy and Sober Life

When a person enters a Narconon Fresh Start treatment program they are typically focused on all the negative things in their life. Their attention is stuck on their addiction, the way their body has changed because of their substance abuse and all the challenges and problems they have to face when they return home. Clients are looking for things that are wrong with them and the many ways they are “falling apart”.

Narconon Fresh Start has developed a program that is able to help clients process their emotions and come to terms with the many areas of their life they struggle with. Through the course of the program clients begin to learn how to redirect their attention off of themselves and onto their sobriety. The treatment program includes a series of life skills and education on how to communicate effectively, handle difficult situations, identify social and anti-social personalities and provides a moral and ethical code to live by.

I’m ready to See What Life Has in Store for Me

I came to Narconon on my own choice, I was tired of losing jobs, destroying relationships, my body by drinking all day and not really caring about anyone else’s needs other than my own. My girlfriend would come over and clean my room and all the beer cans I would leave around the house I was absent throughout the relationship and by the time I realized it was too late. I hid the drinking from my mother who had no idea the extent of my drinking. She had no idea I was drinking a case and a fifth a day. I was spending at least 140 dollars a week on booze. When I told her she was shocked after I called Narconon she backed me up the whole way and she was very happy to do so. I talked to Adam Webster who found the warner springs locations for me. I left two days after my birthday, one of the worst birthdays I’ve had, then again I realized it was the best one of my life because I got to start over with a new one, I don’t even think about drinking anymore I don’t want to go to that destructive lifestyle, I’m ready to see what life has in store for me and repair the damage that I have caused.

Taking Responsibility

An important part of the Narconon Fresh Start program is taking personal responsibility for the things you have done in the past and making amends when needed. Clients identify areas in their life where they were unethical and negligent of others. Through addressing these specific incidents (writing them down, thinking about them and talking about them) the program participant is able to work through their feelings and move past the guilt that burdens them. Freeing themselves of these negative feelings and emotions allows the client to focus on their future. This is because they have put those past experiences to rest and done their best to do right by those they may have hurt or harmed along the way. For the client it feels like they are given the chance to start anew, a clean slate if you will to begin living the new life they are preparing for while in treatment.

I feel much better after my class and writing my letters. Getting all my feelings and emotions out really lifted a load off of me and makes me feel strong. I am happy to be moving on with my program.

I feel a lot better after finally writing down all the guilt and shame I have been carrying around for all these years. I have a great sense of relief after writing a letter to my boyfriend.

Identifying Underlying Issues that Caused Addiction Problems

Narconon Fresh Start treatment programs such as the Lonestar Victory Ranch drug rehab realize how important identifying, confronting and resolving underlying issues is to their clients recovery. When a client enrolls at Lonestar Victory Ranch they are often at the lowest point in their life. Their addiction has taken just about everything from them and they need help in many areas of their life. While addressing their addiction issues the staff also help the client identify the underlying reasons that lead them to abuse drugs or alcohol in the first place. Once these specific areas have been identified they are thoroughly worked through during the client’s time in treatment. When rehabilitation is complete the client will have addressed and fully reconciled these past issues so that they will not continue to cause havoc on the recovered client.
