Erin was injured at work and was then prescribed vicodin and muscle relaxers. After she lost her insurance she tried roxicet that a friend gave her. After that, she started using opiates and other drugs and also hanging out with people using heroin. In addition, she was on eight different psychiatric medications that weren’t helping her. The doctors told her that she would have to live with her illness for the rest of her life. So she felt like giving up because she thought she was going to have to be miserable and angry for the rest of her life. But after coming to the Narconon Fresh Start program, she learned a lot about her self and learned that she didn’t have to be angry or miserable for the rest of her life. She also learned that she doesn’t have to be on psych meds to live a normal life. Erin has been off psych meds for many years now and said that she is happier now than she has ever been. She said that the Narconon Fresh Start program made her a better person and that it gave her many skills to be successful and to live life the right way. Erin has been clean since 2011.

Carrie started off binge drinking with her friends while she was in college. Once she graduated, she started working for a company and drinking with coworkers.
